The Wild Librarian

"You see, I don't believe that libraries should be drab places where people sit in silence, and that's been the main reason for our policy of employing wild animals as librarians." --Gorilla Librarian sketch, Monty Python's Flying Circus TV Show, Episode 10

Marketing conference

At an OCLC marketing event I was able to catch up with some of my old pals. There was a great keynote speaker and she was even kind of funny. There was talk of the lack of managing abilities in librarians. Leaving everyone wondering: What has come of us?

My favorite comment by a public library librarian was "We hope all the old librarians with the egos leave so new proactive ones can fill in the spots. Then we can get some great things done."

Interactive human body games

Somewhere I heard about the BBC's interactive human body games. There are several to choose from to help you learn the different parts of the body. I spent a good deal of time playing the skeleton game. This would be great for high school students, or really anyone, but certainly a great way to learn.

Have fun.
