The Wild Librarian

"You see, I don't believe that libraries should be drab places where people sit in silence, and that's been the main reason for our policy of employing wild animals as librarians." --Gorilla Librarian sketch, Monty Python's Flying Circus TV Show, Episode 10

Pandora

This is a very fun site. Wow you can spend too much time here having loads of fun learning about all sorts of new music, or at least new to you music. Pandora was created as a way to help people discover music. You enter your band of choice, one you totally dig, and it will search to tell you bands similar to the one you like. Very cool.

Although maneuvering the search choices may not be as intuitive as some other searching sites it's well worth the effort to learn its idiosyncrasies. I dig the way you can sample the songs, listen to them and really determine the groove you get from it. If you don't like the options provided you are able to provide feedback about the song. In turn you're help them make better choices for future users. By looking at the musicians you like you are able to know what it is about those bands you like. It could be more instrumental than you thought. Oooh this song I'm listening to right now, it is no good for me, oooh this new one, now that's good.
